SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE WITH MARSHMALLOW & PECAN STREUSEL |
Mashed sweet potato casserole topped with toasted marshmallows and a brown sugar cinnamon pecan streusel. The perfect side dish for Thanksgiving or any holiday celebration.
This sweet potato casserole will absolutely be on our table this holiday. It is my go-to sweet potato casserole recipe. It continues to be one of the most popular recipes on this site and it is a strong standing family favorite.
The base of the casserole is creamy mashed sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes get topped with marshmallows and then (this is the best part!!!) sprinkled with a streusel made of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans. The streusel adds great texture to the casserole with little sweet and crunchy buttery bits scattered throughout those gooey toasted marshmallows. Little pieces of the streusel topping melt down into a brown sugar-cinnamon-butter which helps flavor every bite of the potatoes.
